A 19-year-old Maltese teenager who unexpectedly fell into a coma is now in need of funds in order to support his condition.

Keith Carabott was studying BCOM at the University of Malta before falling into a coma after suffering from a stroke while training football.

Keith was lucky to have been blessed with amazing friends throughout this ordeal, who have recently launched a fundraiser to help him and his family out – Kick it for Keith.

“I am a medical student and together with my brother and his friend Beppe we are planning a fundraiser 5 aside football match for Keith Carabott, a 19-year-old who very unexpectedly ended up in a coma,” Michela Pulis told Lovin Malta.

“He now requires a van, wheelchair and other needs which are going to cost €30,000 and over, with the wheelchair and van being specifically designed for his condition,” she explained.

“His mother, father and brother Matthias have had to be at the hospital every day, so as expected the family’s income has decreased,” she said.

The youths are now looking for any financial aid possible, in order to give back to the community and help in this cause.

They’ve already managed to source free catering, music, teams to play in the football games, and even vouchers for the winners – however, they need your help.

“What we require now is a kind donation to help us reach our goal. €30,000 is a big number but we are hoping that divided between all of us it becomes a small burden,” Michela expressed.

The event, Kick it for Keith, is a charity football tournament, being held on 2nd September at De La Salle Football Grounds.

Any donations can be sent via Revolut on this number: 99567915

A €5 donation is being requested from each team member, in order to get the organisers closer to the final goal. The event can be accessed through this link.
