Maltese Volunteer Partners With Polish NGO To Take Supplies To Ukraine Front Line
Maltese volunteer Marc Edward Pace Portanier managed to bring another stock of supplies to the front line in Ukraine, in partnership with Polish NGO InNeed.
This trip was done by another volunteer working with Pace Portanier, called Maiek, who successfully brought the supplies to the North Eastern front.
“This week we managed to get our first aid shipment into newly liberated areas along the North Eastern front. We’re currently helping newly liberated towns and places around the North Eastern front – Kharkiv, Izyum area and even closer to the Russian border,” Pace Portanier explained.
“The trips take around four days to make, and it’s not at all plain sailing with checkpoints and risks. Each bag transported contains essential goods to last a family a few days,” he said.
Pace Portanier even shared a video with Lovin Malta where one can hear the artillery shots in the background from around five to ten kilometres away.
He also explained how newly liberated areas in Ukraine are lacking many basic things, including safe and clean potable water.
“We have enough aid for around two or three trips however we need gas money as every trip costs us around €1,000 in Diesel as it’s close to 2,000km per way,” Pace Portanier said, appealing for help.
“I will be heading one mission in two weeks’ time where we will also attempt to set up a communal kitchen,” Pace Portanier said.
Pace Portanier appealed for any monetary help that can be offered, saying that this would go a long way for the cause.
