Man Arrested For String Of Electronics’ Thefts From Maltese Shops Between June And November

A Macedonian man has been arrested for allegedly committing a string of thefts in several localities in Malta between June and November.

The 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with nine thefts of a large number of mobiles, laptops, and cash from shops in Valletta, Qormi, Sliema, Naxxar, and Mellieħa valuing around €150,000. 

Cash was stolen from the establishment in Naxxar.

Intensive police investigations led to the man’s identification and arrest this Saturday in St Julian’s.

Investigations further found that the man allegedly broke into the shops during nights between June and November.

He allegedly also tried to break into other ships in Birkirkara, Tarxien, Marsa, and Gżira.

He is expected to be brought to court at around 2.30pm today before Police Magistrate Abigail Critien.
