Man Arrested With €14,000 Worth Of Drugs In Marsa

A 44-year-old man from Valletta was arrested on Thursday after police discovered a significant quantity of drugs in his possession, allegedly intended for trafficking, with a street value estimated at €14,000.

Following several days of investigative work, authorities observed the suspect driving in Marsa. He was immediately stopped by police when he reportedly attempted to discard a bag from his vehicle upon seeing the officers.

A search of the man and his car was conducted on reasonable suspicion. Police recovered approximately 210 wraps of suspected cocaine and 69 wraps of suspected heroin, along with a sum of cash.

A magisterial inquiry has been opened in connection with the case.

The man is currently being held at the Floriana Police Lock-Up and is expected to appear in court today at 11am before Magistrate Victor Axiak
