A man fell through a wooden slab covering road works in Attard, sustaining bruises and grazes on his leg.

“If there was any iron or metal under the wood, I could have fucked my leg,” Jerome* told Lovin Malta soon after the incident, explaining how painful the fall was.

Jerome was walking on Triq Santa Katarina this morning at around 9am when he had to cross over a wooden slab to get to the other side of the street. However, when walking the wood crashed down, taking his leg down with it.

“Look at the state of the wood,” he said “The quality is terrible. Had it been an old person who fell, the outcome could have been much worse.”

After falling, he was able to get himself out of the hole and a bollard was placed against the plank, seemingly to prevent an accident from reocurring.

Shortly after, a woman had to pass over the same wooden plank.

Jerome allegedly attempted to report this issue to the police but could not get through.

Lovin Malta reached out to the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, as well as the police, and the newsroom is currently awaiting a response.
