A man is at risk of dying after being involved in a traffic incident in San Ġwann last night at around 7pm.

The police was informed shortly after and peliminary investigations revealed that a collision occurred between a Renault Megane and a Honda motorcycle, driven by a 42-year-old man from Birkirkara.

The motorcyclist received immediate medical attention at the scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as having sustained serious injuries.

Police are currently searching for the driver of the Renault, who reportedly fled the scene following the incident.

The case has been reported to Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia, who has appointed an inquiry, while police continue their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident
