Local activist group Moviment Graffitti is participating in this weekend’s protest organised by Youths For Palestine in solidarity with the people in Gaza.

“8,525 Palestinians in Gaza, many of whom are children, have been massacred by Israel until this very morning,” Moviment Graffitti wrote on social media.

The march will happen this Saturday when demonstrators will convene outside Parliament in Valletta at 3pm.

“Apart from being bombed relentlessly, Gaza’s population is also suffering from severe food, water, and fuel shortages due to Israel’s blockade.”

“Furthermore, in the West Bank, illegal Israeli settlers and the occupation forces have stepped up their violent attacks on Palestinians.”

“The West, including many European countries, are complicit in the genocide of Palestinians by Israel. For 75 years, they have sent a message of impunity – Israel can kill Palestinians, expel them from their lands, and colonise their lands without any consequences.”

“This Saturday we will participate in the March for Gaza – Palestine, organised by a group of youths in Malta in solidarity with Palestine. Whilst reiterating our full support for the cause of the Palestinian people, we also call on Europe to sanction Israel as long as it continues to occupy Palestine and perpetrate these atrocities,” the activist group concluded.

This is one of a number of demonstrations held since 7th October, the day tensions escalated between Israel and Palestine. A tragic terrorist attack by Hamas prompted a major reaction by Israel that has been retaliating with air strikes and blockades ever since.

Just two weeks ago, Moviment Graffitti organised a powerful die-in protest where sounds of bombs triggered protesters, some draped in Palestinian flags, to lie on the stairs of parliament.
