Actors Marisa Abela and Jamie Bogyo got hitched in an intimate ceremony at Firle Place, a 15th-century manor house in East Sussex, on 13th September.

The couple, who met in 2016 while studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), began dating after graduating in 2019. Jamie proposed in July 2024 at Primrose Hill, the spot where they first met as students.

Abela turned up the heat in Malta as she partied with pals on her hen do ahead of marrying fiancé Jamie Bogyo in her glamorous bachelorette.

The wedding was a personal and romantic affair, carefully tailored to reflect the couple’s love story. The ceremony was held outdoors, with guests seated beneath the historic estate’s dramatic architecture. The bride walked down the aisle to the theme from “Cinema Paradiso”, a film that holds deep meaning for the couple.

Marisa wore a custom gown by Emilia Wickstead, crafted from nearly 20 metres of silk duchess satin. The dress featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and structured corsetry, with a classic silhouette inspired by 1950s elegance. It took over 250 hours to make. For dinner, she changed into another Wickstead design—more practical and lighter—and later, for dancing, wore a tailored Bevza blazer paired with sporty shorts. Jamie wore a double-breasted black tuxedo by Dunhill.

The couple exchanged vows they had written themselves. Family and friends contributed personal readings and musical performances, adding warmth and familiarity to the formal setting. A few days before the main event, Marisa and Jamie held a small legal ceremony at Islington Town Hall, attended only by their parents.

Following the ceremony, guests celebrated at Soho House in Brighton with dinner, heartfelt speeches, and dancing late into the night. The wedding combined old-Hollywood style with intimate, meaningful details—a celebration that reflected both the couple’s shared past and their creative spirits.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
