Malta International Airport has achieved its best-ever performance with 4.1 million passengers passing through its gates in the first six months of 2024.

This represents an impressive 18.4% increase compared to the same period from last year.

March stood out as the fastest-growing month, with passenger numbers surging by 30% compared to 2023, followed by notable increases in February (+25%) and January (+23%).

This exceptional rise in passenger traffic has significantly boosted the airport’s financial performance. Revenue for the first half of 2024 reached €66.4 million, driven by growth in both aviation and non-aviation segments, while net profit totalled to €22.1 million.

Borg, a company representative, commented on the airport’s strong performance stating, “Following excellent results across all areas of our operation, we are entering the second half of 2024 in a robust financial position. This has allowed us to distribute our highest interim dividend to date to shareholders and continue investing in the development of Malta International Airport.”
