MOAS Ukraine received critical medical aid from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism which will support frontline operations to save lives.

MOAS is an international humanitarian organisation dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance and responding quickly and efficiently to emerging crises. Since its inception, MOAS has reached hundreds of thousands of people through its activities. Today, MOAS is involved in several missions in Ukraine, Sudan, Yemen and Somalia, providing aid deliveries and essential medical care.

“The donation includes infusion solutions, essential medications, and additional supplies. These are everyday items that make a real difference when lives hang in the balance, the tools medics rely on daily to stabilise, treat, and save patients in the most challenging conditions,” read a statement by MOAS.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, MOAS managed to save 70,000 lives through a brave team of 150 all-Ukrainian professionals. These include doctors, medics and drivers that are deployed just off the front line, providing medical evacuation of injured soldiers, thanks to a fleet of 52 state-of-the-art ambulances and an ambulance bus.

“We are maintaining his commitment through our 2025 Presidency of the Council of Europe, as we prioritise ongoing efforts to ensure justice and accountability for the crimes of aggression against the people of Ukraine,” said Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Ian Borg.

Since the start of the war, Malta has undertaken a range of diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, including initiatives during its tenure as an elected member of the UN Security Council and as Chair-in-Office of the OSCE in 2024.

In the crucible of conflict, even the smallest medical provisions hold immense power over life and death. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Government of Malta for this critical and timely donation,” said MOAS Founder Christopher Catrambone.

Catrambone went on to say “this directly enhances our operational capacity on the ground and serves as a vital assurance to our Ukrainian colleagues that they are supported. Each delivery is a lifeline, and every gesture of solidarity reinforces our unwavering commitment to our mission, even when under fire.”

Well done to for efforts at the frontline!
