More Than 386,000 Tourists Spent Nearly €396 Million In June 2025

Over 386,000 tourists visited Malta in June 2025, spending close to €396 million, according to fresh data released by the National Statistics Office (NSO).
According to official data, the number of visitors to Malta increased by 10.8% in June, and the typical visitor spent 7.4% more than they did in the same month the previous year.
Welcoming this positive increase was Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg who took to social media and said:
“In June, tourist numbers increased by 10.8% compared to last year.
More importantly, their spending was up by 19.1%!
Let’s keep working together.”
In June, there were 386,776 visitors to Malta, with more than 90% of them travelling for vacation. During their stay in Malta, nearly two out of three visitors (61.9%) went to Gozo or Comino.
Over one-third (35.3%) of visitors were between the ages of 25 and 44, with 27.4% being between the ages of 45 and 64.
43.6% of the total inbound tourists were from the UK, Italy and France, according to NSO data.
Tourists spent a total of 2.5 million combined guest nights in June in Malta, which is up by 8.6% when compared to June 2024. Tourists spent around 6.4 nights in the Maltese islands.
Tourists almost €395.9 million which is an increase of 19.1% over June 2024, with the average expense per night estimated at €159.50.
On a per capita basis, tourists spent an average of €1,023.60 when visiting Malta, which is 7.4% more than the average of €952.70 when visiting in June 2024.
The Malta Tourism Authority has also noted a significant rise in the number of tourists aged 65 and over with a 25.2% increase from last year.
