A 21-year-old Italian national has suffered serious injuries after a traffic accident at 5.30am in Pembroke earlier today.

The man was driving a Kymco Agility motorbike and lost control resulting in a collision with a concrete barricade in Sant Andrija street.

He was immediately given help from a medical team and was immediately taken to hospital by ambulance. Shortly after, he was certified to have suffered serious injuries.

Magistrate Monica Borg Galea LL.D has opened an inquiry and the police investigations are underway.
