Malta International Airport (MIA) is gearing up to welcome approximately 229,000 passengers between 21st December and 31st December.

This comes as the holiday season brings an influx of travellers heading home or embarking on Christmas getaways.

The busiest days of this festive period are expected to be December 27th, 28th, and 29th, with passenger movements projected at around 24,500, 27,800, and 24,300 respectively.

To make the holiday experience extra special, the airport has lined up a variety of family-friendly activities at the Airport Food Court on level -1.

Highlights include a visit from Santa Claus himself, who will be at the airport on 23rd December between 5pm and 8pm, giving young travellers a chance to snap a photo with Santa on his sleigh.

Inside the Departures Hall, passengers can enjoy complimentary mulled wine at a stall near Gate 1. For those looking to add a festive touch to their journey, a free gift-wrapping service is available just outside the Dufry outlet at Schengen Departures.

MIA wishes all passengers a joyous season!
