An oil spill from a bus has disrupted traffic in one of Malta’s busiest roads in Ħamrun.

The incident took place in Triq il-Ferrovija in Ħamrun and bystanders saw yellow oil spreading across the road from the bus.

Civil Protection Malta are on site to collect the oil and police are diverting traffic from the road.

“One of the public transport vehicles was involved in a fuel spill incident in Ħamrun. The company immediately implemented its emergency response plan, placing the highest priority on the health and safety of everyone involved. Bus routes passing through the area are currently being diverted. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank the authorities for their immediate assistance,” Malta Public Transport told Lovin Malta.
