‘PBS Is Now Super One 2’: PN Hangs Labour TV Channel Logo Onto Public Broadcasting Services

Representatives from the Nationalist Party have just hung One’s logo, which is the TV channel for Labour, onto the sign at the entrance of the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS).
While addressing a press conference in front of the transformed sign, PN Secretary General Michael Piccinino stressed how “PBS has become Super One 2”, with Super One being the former name for the channel.
“A week has passed since the constitutional court decided that the PBS, which is financed by our taxes, continues to be a propaganda machine for Robert Abela,” Piccinino said.
“Abela is censoring anyone who tries to bring a different message, or criticize the Labour government,” he claimed.
“A week has also passed since PN leader Bernard Grech invited the PBS to launch an investigation on who was breaking the party’s fundamental rights to equal coverage,” he said.
He continued to say that the PBS is still censoring the PN and therefore, the party will continue to insist that responsibility be shouldered and action be taken against whoever made the decision.
Meanwhile, PN MP Graham Bencini also stressed that public funds should be used to truly reflect the freedom of expression.
This comes after an appeals court confirmed that PBS and the Broadcasting Authority were indeed breaching the Nationalist Party’s rights and acting in partiality on two separate occasions.
What action do you think needs to be taken by PBS now?
