Pelin Kaya’s Family And Friends Unveil New Memorial At Gżira Accident Site

In an emotional gathering, Pelin Kaya’s close family, friends, and Gżira Mayor Conrad Borg Manche unveiled a new memorial for her on the site of the accident last night.
The memorial was unveiled after her loved ones planted fifteen trees in her memory in the Gżira Independence Gardens. This is the second time they planted trees in her memory after the first one was uprooted.
Numerous members of the public were present for the memorial, as flowers and photos of Pelin were laid down next to KFC Gżira, where Pelin lost her life while walking home.
“Contrary to those people who are destroying everything, we still want to make everything beautiful and make trees blossom. Pelin’s soul will live forever within those trees. Thanks to the Gżira Mayor, we now have a meeting point in Gżira with her memorial plate,” one of her friends told Lovin Malta.
Her mother and aunt were also present and appealed for justice to be served as they shed tears for Pelin.

30-year-old Pelin was tragically murdered at the beginning of this year after being at the centre of a horrifying car crash in Gżira.
Since then, alleged murderer Jeremie Camilleri, who was high on cocaine at the time of the incident, has been charged with wilful homicide.
Rest In Peace Pelin
