PN Commemorates Malta’s Independence With Community Run

As part of its Independence Day calendar of events, the Nationalist Party organised ‘Il-Ġirja tal-Indipendenza,’ a run for its members and officials.

“Every year, the sports branch within the Nationalist Party, Tim Sport PN, takes care of organising the Independence Run. It was a pleasure for Sarah and I to do this run with you today,” wrote Borg on social media. 

In a statement, the PN announced that this year’s theme for its Independence Day celebrations will be “Il-kwalità tal-ħajja li tixirqilna” (The quality of life we deserve).

The PN stated that this year’s Independence Day celebrations will reflect on the country’s political journey, assess the current state of affairs, and present proposals for the future.

On Independence Day, two sporting events organised by TimSport PN will be held: a 5 km run/walk and the traditional Independence shot.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Deputy Leader Alex Perici Calascione emphasised that the Nationalist Party believes Malta’s independence remains highly relevant today.He highlighted the crucial role society plays in shaping the nation’s future, improving quality of life, and supporting Malta’s socio-economic progress.
