Thrift Pop-Up In Aid Of Tomasina Cat Sanctuary Happening Now At Malta’s University
A thrift pop-up in aid of the Tomasina Cat Sanctuary is happening right now at the University of Malta, with 100% of proceeds going toward cats in need.
Fran Falzon and Fran Valletta have been organising these pop-ups in aid of different animal sanctuaries, helping raise more awareness over animals in need and highlighting a shift towards sustainable fashion.
“This is our sixth one now – we collect clothes as donations from the public and sell them where 100% of the proceeds go towards the animal sanctuary,” Fran told Lovin Malta.
“There will also be multiple local brands will their own set up selling their products. They are also contributing to the chosen charity with a percentage of their sales going to Tomasina Cat Sanctuary through us.”
“We will be set up on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th October at the KSU Common Room from 12pm to 6pm. There is an entrance donation of just €1 which will also be going directly to the charity.”
Apart from that, they are going to be collecting supplies for the abandoned dogs at AAA, from 26th to 29th October.
“The Association for Abandoned Animals homes over 80 dogs and relies on donations from the generous public. This is why we need your help to collect essential items to help the dogs survive the winter,” they appealed.
“We’ll be collecting, any form of dog food: including dry/wet/soft food, dog biscuits, treats, and chewies,” they said.
Due to limited indoor space, many dogs will not have a place to sleep inside. That’s why they’re also collecting old blankets, towels, sheets, curtains, and anything that will help keep the dogs warm.
These items can be dropped off at the university, in the bins which will be placed outside the KSU Common Room, at the following times: Wednesday 26th: 6pm – 8pm, Thursday 27th: 6pm – 8pm, Friday 28th: 12pm – 6pm, and Saturday 29th: 12pm – 6pm.
