As another year goes by, we generally get wiser. Life teaches us new things daily and considering the difficult year this was, it’s no surprise that Malta’s politicians and personalities have learned a lot.

So, we reached out to a couple of current and former politicians to find out what they learned in 2023.

Aaron Farrugia

“That you should be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.”

Roberta Metsola

“‘Rizz’ is a real word.”

Byron Camilleri

“That one can never learn enough, irrespective of how many books one reads, one’s academic background, the number of times one discusses issues with learned colleagues or adversaries, or chats with the common man and woman. If one listens – and not hears – there is always something that you can assimilate and add to your baggage in life.”

Alex Borg

“Everyone has their own story. His/her own worry/aspirations/opportunity. Life and people are a very wide spectrum”

Joseph Muscat

Bernard Grech

“After losing both my parents, it proved to be a tough year, one filled with many emotions and moments, which left a deeper understanding once more of the crucial role a mother and father have in a person’s life.”

Miriam Dalli

“Enjoy the moment!”

Ian Borg

“Family comes first, always.”
