Robert Aquilina Returns to Fondazione Falcone At The NGO’s Request

At Fondazione Falcone’s request, Robert Aquilina has returned to his position as local representative.
“I am pleased to announce that I have accepted a request by Fondazione Falcone to resume my role as its Malta representative with immediate effect,” Aquilina said in a statement.
The Fondazione Falcone is an NGO that promotes legality, justice and the fight against crime. It also promotes the rule of law in society, particularly through the education of the young.
After Aquilina was questioned by the police and accused of domestic abuse, he suspended his membership of the foundation. Upon his return, apart from serving in his previous role as Malta representative, he will also serve as a member of the NGO’s general council.
Aquilina expressed gratitude to the anti-mafia organisation for their trust and pledged to return the favour by promoting justice in Malta and elsewhere.
Aquilina’s wife requested last week, that the domestic violence accusations against him be dropped, claiming that her statements to the police were being “exploited and manipulated” to harm her husband’s reputation.
“I declare that I do not want to be, and will not be, a participant in the persecution of my husband Robert,” said Aquilina’s wife in the declaration she gave to Magistrate Lara Lanfranco, who presided over the Family Court, she stated.
Aquilina also quit his co-founded rule of law organisation, Repubblika, as soon as the allegations against him were made public.
