Energy Minister Miriam Dalli has replaced Labour MP Rosianne Cutajar on the Council of Europe’s parliamentary assembly, following rules breach investigation.
However, Cutajar addressed the matter this morning, saying that it was actually her choice to be replaced on the Council.
“Contrary to what is being reported, I was not removed but rather I asked to be removed,” she wrote in a Facebook post this morning.
“This substitution does not mean that I won’t be defending my name against the allegations of Jason Azzopardi and the Nationalist party,” she continued.
Cutajar has been accused of breach of the MPs PACE code, over dealings of Mdina property with Yorgen Fenech.
This had created a conflict of interest, and the MP was being investigated over the link to the property transaction. She has denied all links to the allegations made.
