‘Skeleton-Like Children Are Dying’: Moviment Graffitti Activist Frustrated With Hunger Crisis In Gaza

Andre Callus, of Moviment Graffitti, has taken to social media to express his frustration with the hunger crisis in Gaza due to the regional conflict.

“Skeleton-like children are dying from hunger in front of our very eyes! Children, elderly, women, men begging for a sip of water and some flour on the brink of death,” wrote Callus on social media.

Callus went on to criticise Prime Minister Robert Abela for “posing with children coming from Gaza at Malta’s airport, while Malta is not taking action to oppose this genocide.”

The activist’s statement also mentioned how Malta has not called for the sanctioning of Israel, has not recognised Palestine as a state and has not retired the Maltese flag from sea vessels shipping arms to Israel.

“I cannot take this anymore. Nothing has ever affected me like the months and months on end of genocide that have taken place in Gaza […]Two million people are dying of hunger in front of our eyes and yet, no action is being taken.”

A protest “Empty pots march from Triton fountain to Castille” is being organised by Moviment Graffitti on 29th July starting at 6.30pm to demand meaningful action by the Maltese Government against Israel’s mass starvation of Palestinians in Gaza.
