‘Stand With Palestine’: Solidarity Protest Happening Today Outside Parliament In Valletta
Activists from Moviment Graffitti (MG) have appealed to the public to join a solidarity protest later on today together with the Palestinian Embassy outside of Parliament in Valletta.
This comes as tensions continue to rise in Gaza, as many people have been completely cut off from food, water, and fuel. The act of solidarity will commence today at 3.30pm.
“We will be joining the Palestinian Embassy in Malta to express our solidarity with the Palestinians and, in particular, with the people of Gaza who are currently facing genocide,” Moviment Graffitti recently announced on social media.
“Two and a half million Palestinians, in an area the size of Malta, are currently under indiscriminate and relentless bombardment. At the same time, they are completely cut off from food, water, and fuel through illegal blockades by Israel,” it continued.
“Hundreds of children, women, and men have lost their lives as a result. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and basic resources like water and food are almost depleted.”
It continued to describe current affairs as “a tragedy of unimaginable proportions”.
“However, unfortunately, this is not new. For 75 years, Palestinians have suffered a brutal occupation and a policy of terror imposed by the Israeli State and its colonial ambitions,” it said.
As a result, Palestinian nationals have been forced to occupy less than 20% of the lands they once inhabited along Gaza and the West Bank.
“And even there, they continue to be killed, displaced from their homes, and humiliated on a daily basis.”
“It is essential that voices of solidarity with those experiencing genocide are heard, especially as many Western states are actively supporting the Israeli State in this genocidal violence,” MG appealed.
“We will see you there, in front of the Parliament at 3.30pm.”
