‘Stay Back. Stay Out. Don’t Come Close’ Malta Blue Light Member Tells The Public

Blue Light member, Michael Spiteri, expressed his frustration with people who treat an accident site like a “playground”.
“Lately, too many of you think it’s okay to stroll past barrier tape like you own the place. You treat our emergency zone like it’s your living room — filming, interfering or trying to feel important,” wrote Spiteri on social media.
Blue Light Foundation is comprised of members from the Malta Police Force, Armed Forces of Malta, Emergency Ambulance Service Staff, Corradino Correctional Facility and Civil Protection.

Spiteri went on to list five questions by-standers should ask themselves “before they act recklessly” or when they’re impeding emergency responders’ operations.
The emergency responder went on to stress how Blue Light’s work is very serious and how it’s a matter of life or death on the scene of an accident.
“We are not here for your entertainment. We’re not your drama fix. We are here to save lives- and your presence makes that harder. So unless you are injured or part of the rescue team: Step back. Stay out. Don’t come close.”
