The Sunday Run Club is organising a special Santa Hat Run on this coming Sunday, to support Puttinu Cares and bring festive joy to children battling cancer.

This 5km run, kicking off at 8.15am from Dr Juice in Sliema, is a unique opportunity to combine fitness with giving back this festive season.

“The Sunday Run Club is a community-driven initiative that combines fitness with meaningful causes. Through our monthly runs, we aim to bring people together, fostering a sense of connection while supporting important social causes,” the group said.

“In the past, we’ve partnered with the Richmond Foundation to promote mental health awareness, and now we’re focusing on bringing hope and joy to children supported by Puttinu Cares.”

“Our mission is simple: to build a strong running community while positively impacting the wider social community.”

“This festive 5km run encourages participants to bring age-appropriate gifts, which will be donated to children under the care of Puttinu Cares, spreading holiday cheer to those who need it most.”

For safety reasons, plush or soft toys are not accepted, but suggested gifts include dolls or cars for ages 2-5 and Legos for ages 6 and up.

“For those unable to bring a gift, we’re also accepting monetary donations, which will be used to purchase gifts on their behalf. The gifts will be delivered directly to Puttinu Cares following the event.”

Sponsored by Dr. Juice Malta and Toyland Malta, the Santa Hat Run is about more than running — “it’s about spreading hope and fostering community spirit during the festive season.”

Sign up for the run or make a donation to help ensure these children have a Christmas to remember. Visit Sunday Run Club to participate or donate via Revolut.
