Once every couple of months, Malta’s headlines get inundated with news of domestic violence that all too often ends in murder or femicide.

Unfortunately, many of these devastating endings were preceded by police reports, indicating that victims did all they could to protect themselves from their aggressors.

That being said, cases of abuse do not always make the headlines, with the country harbouring hundreds, if not thousands, of silent sufferers and survivors.
