Teens Caught Vandalising Roundabout Light Fixtures In Sliema

A group of youths were captured vandalising light fixtures on the roundabout linking Ix-Xatt Ta’ Qui-Si-Sana and the Tigné Tunnel in Sliema.Footage sent to Lovin Malta shows the youths removing and throwing around what appears to be the metal cover of an in-ground lighting fixtures.

They are also spotted kicking it, playing with it, and even walking off with the object in hand. At one point, some of them are seen darting across the road, posing a danger to themselves and others.

The group was filmed yesterday evening at 6.45pm.As of now, no official police reports have been filed, but investigations are underway to identify those involved.While it is unclear whether the youths in the video are locals or tourists, it comes at a time of increased disorderly behaviour in commercial hubs like Sliema and St Julian’s.

This has caused widespread frustration among residents in these localities who frequently complain about the quality of tourists Malta has attracted as of late.
