‘The EU Doesn’t Give You That Authority’: Jon Mallia Debunks Norman Lowell’s Claim That He’ll Kick Out Illegal Immigrants As MEP
Local podcaster Jon Mallia has debunked Norman Lowell’s claim that “all the illegal immigrants will be booted out before you can say Peppi Azzopardi” if he becomes a Member of the European Parliament (MEP).
“Certainly Norman knows that the European Union (EU) doesn’t give any authority to do what he’s saying. And if he doesn’t know this basic fact, what the fuck is he doing on the list of candidates?” Mallia wrote on Facebook.
Mallia watched Lowell’s interview on Leħnek where he said that now infamous quote, pledging to get rid of all illegal immigrants if he gets voted into the European Parliament, and responded with “LOL”, highlighting the absurdity of his claims.
“How brazen and deceitful this man is.”
“Apart from the anger of the Maltese stemming from the fact that the local government decided to import thousands upon thousands of workers from the third world without a plan and in a short period.”
“Once again, Europe has nothing to do with it.”
“These are immigrants who are here by invitation of the Maltese. Yes, this rapid increase in population is a problem. Both for the immigrant and for the citizen. But, Norman Lowell, despite his words being more colourful than a pride parade, is not the solution.”
