A toddler has been rescued from the Civil Protection Unit earlier this afternoon, after falling in a well at home in Qormi.

“This afternoon, rescuers from Fire Stations 1 and 4 successfully carried out a delicate operation to rescue a toddler who had fallen into a well. Civil Protection Malta went on to say that “The rescue took place approximately three stories below ground level and required the use of specialised rope access techniques to safely extract both individuals.”

Thanks to the quick response and teamwork of emergency responders, both father and child were rescued without serious injuries. Both were admitted to hospital for some testing after which they were released.

In the same post, Civil Protection Malta extended its thanks to the emergency department at Mater Dei Hospital and the Malta Police Force for their support and collaboration during the operation.
