Transport Malta Launches €1,000 Grant For People Purchasing Motorcycles

Transport Malta, together with the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure, and Public Works, has re-launched a financial incentive for anyone buying a new petrol-powered motorcycle.

If you have registered a new petrol motorcycle from 1st April 2025 onwards, you may be eligible for a grant of up to €1,000. This can be combined with the scrappage scheme if you’re getting rid of an old vehicle.

The two entities reintroduced this initiative to encourage more people to switch from cars to motorcycles, especially for short trips and during busy traffic times. The authorities believe that this is another step towards reducing congestion and helping the environment.

The applications for these grants are now open to all eligible vehicle owners and can be obtained from Transport Malta offices or website.
