Two Men Arrested In Separate Drug Busts Worth €250,000 At Malta’s Airport And Sliema

Two separate investigations into drug imports have led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of drugs with a street value of approximately €250,000.
In the first case, a 34-year-old man from Malaysia was arrested upon his arrival at Malta International Airport. During routine passenger checks, customs officers noticed the man, who had just landed from Larnaca, acting suspiciously.
A search of his luggage, carried out with the assistance of Customs officials, led to the discovery of several packages containing approximately 20kg of suspected cannabis.
In a separate investigation, a 27-year-old British man was arrested in Tas-Sliema after police carried out a controlled delivery linked to a suspicious package that had arrived by post and was addressed to his residence.
The package was found to contain 2kg of suspected cannabis.
Both men are expected to be brought before the Court today before Magistrate Dr Victor Axiak.
