Two Men Arrested Over Burglaries Targeting Elderly In Mġarr And Għaxaq

Two men, aged 38 and 51, were arrested following investigations into burglaries and attempted burglaries targeting private residences of elderly individuals in Mġarr and Għaxaq.

The first incident occurred on 19th October at a residence on Triq Sir Temi Zammit, Mġarr. Investigations revealed that an unknown person or persons had forced entry through the front door and stole approximately €18,000 in cash.

The second incident took place on 26th October at a home on Triq San Filippu, Għaxaq. Police were informed that someone had attempted to force the front door. However, for reasons unknown, the alleged perpetrator fled the scene before gaining entry.

In connection with these cases, the two men were identified as suspects. They are expected to appear in court today at around 1.30pm before Magistrate Marseann Farrugia
