Two People Fighting For Their Lives After Separate Traffic Accidents In Malta

Two people are currently at Mater Dei Hospital fighting for their lives after they both got hit by cars in two separate traffic accidents that happened earlier this morning.
The first incident happened at 4.15am in Ħaż-Żebbuġ when a 74-year-old man residing in Żejtun was hit by a Toyota Vitz that was driven by a 25-year-old San Pawl il-Baħar resident.
Meanwhile, the second incident occurred a bit over an hour later in Birkirkara. At around 5.45am, a 62-year-old woman who lives in the area was hit by a Toyota Funcargo that was driven by a 43-year-old resident of Msida.
The first accident happened in Triq L-Imdina while the second occurred in Triq Salvu Psaila.
Medical teams arrived at the sites of both incidents and both victims were quickly rushed to hospital where their serious injuries were confirmed.
A magisterial inquiry and police investigations are currently ongoing.
