The two victims from yesterday’s shooting in Baħrija have been identified as Anthony Agius and Dennis Mifsud.

Agius, known as “Toni” was a 57-year-old man from Rabat and Mifsud was a 51-year-old man from Siġġiewi. The murder took place in a private alleyway. The alleged murderer killed his stepson and the husband of his partner’s daughter.

The motive for the murder remains unknown.

The suspect was arrested at around 8.30pm at a supermarket parking area in Mosta after a brief search by the police, as confirmed by policeman Brandon Pisani.

The attacker’s vehicle was towed and taken for investigation in the search for residues of the shooting.

Magistrate Joe Mifsud has started an inquiry together with a number of experts and police investigations are underway.
