Watch: 16-Year-Old Pianist Gets Malta’s Got Talent’s Second Golden Buzzer With ‘Outstanding’ Original Song
It’s another week and another golden buzzer for the second episode of Malta’s Got Talent, this time for a beautiful original song.
Judge Gordon Bonello was touched by a self-written song by 16-year-old Bettina Farrugia, granting her the second golden buzzer of the season.
The young composer has always had a passion for music, and detailed how she can play five instruments in total, including piano, violin, and electric guitar.
Prior to her performance, Bettina explained how her original soundtrack was composed by her for a short film that she had worked on at school, called ‘Mirrors Break’.
“I feel that through music I can transmute all the emotions that I am feeling so that the audience can also feel the same thing,” she said before her performance.
“I’m certain that you can give us much more as an artist, and you have a brilliant future in front of you,” Gordon told Bettina moments before giving her the golden buzzer.
“And there are only a few people like you, and people like you should be preserved and given more opportunities,” he continued.
“From my heart – I want to preserve people like you and give you more opportunities,” he said as he reached over the press the golden buzzer.
As the crowd erupted into cheers, Gordon went on stage and personally congratulated Bettina with a hug.
Bettina now joins 14-year-old Kyran Bonello, who was awarded last week’s Golden Buzzer by Judge Sarah Zerafa, as a contestant making it straight to MGT’s later stages
Well done Bettina!
