Prime Minister Robert Abela has described tomorrow’s Budget as one of the most ambitious and socially oriented in Malta’s history.

Addressing the Labour Party’s 2025 General Conference, he outlined a forward-looking plan aimed at enhancing the quality of life for families while ensuring economic growth and stability.

The Budget will include pension increases, business grants, stable energy and fuel prices, and a rise in children’s allowance, all without introducing new taxes. Abela stressed that supporting families remains the government’s top priority, calling a strong family unit “a guarantee for Malta’s future.”

Significant investment in digital transformation will also feature prominently, with initiatives designed to prepare the workforce and economy for a future increasingly shaped by technology and artificial intelligence. These measures aim to foster innovation, boost productivity, and promote sustainable growth.

Citing projections from the International Monetary Fund, Abela highlighted that Malta’s economy is expected to remain among the fastest-growing in the Eurozone until 2030, supported by ongoing investment and stability. He also noted that government assistance in recent years has helped families save thousands of euros by keeping energy and fuel costs stable.
