The new season of Malta’s Got Talent got off to an entertaining and emotional start last night, with the show’s first golden buzzer for a 14-year-old boy.

Influencer Sarah Zerafa was the judge to give young singer Kyran Bonello the golden buzzer, with his voice being described as “angelic”.

The young boy – who beyond performing also has religion and becoming a priest as his passion – impressed the judges and audience alike with his perfectly high-pitched singing, quickly bringing returning judge Sarah to tears.

“You really moved me,” a still visibly emotional Sarah told Kyran following a standing ovation to his audition.

“You’re so talented and so genuine, and I want to make your moment more special and memorable for your whole life.”

It was at this moment that Sarah gave Kyran the golden buzzer, as the influencer quickly rushed on stage to hug him.

Later on the show, Sarah confessed the young boy reminded her of her grandfather, who she grew up with spending many days attending mass with them.

“I couldn’t control myself, I was imagining my nannu next to him,” she continued, still holding back tears.

“This boy gave us a little piece of heaven,” new judge Gordon Bonello said of the incredible performance, still shaken by the teenager’s vocal chops.

Kyran now advances straight to the Semi-Finals, where he will be joining a number of other hopefuls, including, of course, the rest of the judges’ golden buzzer participants.

What did you make of Kyran’s performance?
