Watch: Bus Driver Makes Mid-Route Mellieħa Stop To Buy Loaf Of Sliced Bread

Bus passengers on the way to Ċirkewwa had their trip delayed when a bus driver decided to satisfy his carb cravings mid-way.

In a video published online on Tuesday, an X1 bus on a morning route to Ċirkewwa temporarily stopped in the parking lot of a supermarket.

The bus driver then turned off the engine and left for a few minutes, only to return with a white loaf of bread, all while passengers sat idle, waiting for his return…

…Not that they had much of a choice, because the driver locked them inside.

One clearly disgruntled passenger couldn’t help but record the driver’s lust for loaf.

“This is not normal. This is no driver here. The guy has gone shopping, he hasn’t gone to the bathroom because I know where the bathroom is,” he said.

Independent politician Arnold Cassola also condemned the situation, warning that the driver in question wasted people’s valuable time.

Lovin Malta is informed that the driver was soon identified and action was taken in his regard.

Seeing drivers stop in Malta to grab some food is definitely not new.

But it’s not the nostalgic blast from the past you would want on a rushing morning commute.

The real question is, did anyone have some kunserva for that bread?
