Watch: ‘Can Somebody Pinch Me’ – Maltese Singer’s Song Featured In Well-Known CBS Drama
Local singer/songwriter Gilbert Gauci has expressed his joy at reaching a musical milestone in his career, having had one of his songs used in well-known CBS Drama The Young and the Restless.
The drama has a total of 51 seasons, having garnered millions of viewers along the years.
Gauci’s song ‘Pull Me Closer’ can be heard playing in the background of the opening scene of a recent episode.
The singer then took to social media to show his reaction, one of pure joy and disbelief.
“Can somebody pinch me! ‘The Young and the Restless’ on CBS played my song Pull Me Closer for their opening scene, and I’m still in shock hearing my voice on TV,” he stated.
“I grew up watching soap operas, and it’s been a lifelong dream to have a song featured on one of America’s biggest television networks,” Gilbert added.
Gauci took his career to the next step when he relocated to Sweden last March to study songwriting. Within his first month abroad, Gauci was approached to sing as a backing vocalist in Lidl Finland’s summer song, a yearly tradition as part of their summer campaign.
The songwriter also had the chance to write at none other than Roxy Recordings, a well-known recording studio based in Stockholm.
His latest achievements will now help Gauci gain more recognition within the international music scene.
