Watch: Car Carried Off By Floods From Yesterday’s Storm In Qormi

A green Mazda was swept away by floodwaters during yesterday’s storm that battered the Maltese Islands.

Flooding caused major traffic disruptions  across the islands, particularly in Msida, Bengħisa, and Luqa. Msida alone recorded 40 millimetres of rainfall during the storm.

The incident occurred in a valley near Triq il-Mithna in Qormi, where powerful currents carried the car downstream. The vehicle was stopped only by a bridge, preventing it from being completely washed away.

No injuries were reported, and footage from the scene shows no driver inside the car at the time.
