Watch: Driver Screams In Horror As Construction Truck Dangerously Overtakes Car In Luqa
Footage currently circulating on social media captures the shocking moment a construction truck dangerously overtakes a vehicle in Luqa.
As captured on the driver’s dash cam, the driver had to quickly slow down in order to avoid a tragic accident after the construction truck almost crashed into them.
“The experience we went through yesterday could have ended fatally,” the driver Martina Camilleri told Lovin Malta.
“If it weren’t for my mother realising the reckless actions of the truck driver, this could have ended very badly not only for me but also for my family and any other drivers behind me that would have been involved in the accident,” she said.
Camilleri can be heard screaming in shock and fear in the video and is now calling for a change in attitude on Malta’s roads.
“More awareness must be spread regarding the hazards on our roads, and more so, proper action must be taken against these reckless drivers to help prevent the unfortunate amount of people that are getting hurt every day,” she said.
“We cannot sit around waiting for our next victim, as this could be you,” she appealed.
The driver has now also placed a police report and submitted the evidence against the truck driver.
The video also caught the company of the construction truck and the number plate in full view – with the vehicle being owned by Bonnici Group.
