A dustbin situated outside Valletta’s city gate burst into flames earlier this afternoon.

In footage sent to Lovin Malta, the dustbin can be seen engulfed in flames, situated right in front of Malta’s Parliament building in Valletta, just a few moments ago. 

Officials from the Civil Protection Department said that the fire was probably caused by a cigarette.

No one was injured in the incident.

This is just one from a series of never-ending incidents related to the sweltering heat that was taken over the Maltese islands.
