In footage sent to Lovin Malta, Paceville had an unexpected fashion moment this week when a man, believed to be a tourist, strolled past clubs wearing nothing but a bright green mankini, leaving little, if anything, to the imagination.
Onlookers were quick to glance and exchange comments as the man paraded confidently down the street in the skimpy outfit, which revealed both his buttocks and genitals. While the scene might have seemed straight out of a summer comedy, it arrives at a time when neighbouring Sliema’s local council is getting serious about public decency.
Recent discussions have centred around whether certain standards should be set (and enforced) when it comes to what people wear, or in this case, don’t wear in public spaces. Although the incident occurred in St Julian’s, not Sliema, it adds fuel to the ongoing conversation about how Malta balances fun in the sun with respect for public space.
