Watch: From Near Head-On Collisions To Almost-Tragedies, This Is What A Cab Driver Sees On Malta’s Roads

If you’ve ever experienced Malta’s roads, as a passenger or driver, then you know how wild things can get.

And if you don’t, one cab driver’s terrifying dashcam footage is showing the reality he has to deal with on a daily basis.

From near head-on collisions to situations that could turn tragic within seconds, this is just a glimpse of what a cab driver deals with on Malta’s roads.

“I’m a cab driver, and unfortunately, I see a lot of stupidity on Malta’s roads,” Jeremy Grixti told Lovin Malta, sharing three videos.

Two of them depict frightful near-head-on collisions, both captured on busy main roads.

Another video features a young man casually falling face-first right in front of his car, as the driver was waiting at a stop sign in Paceville.

“That night in Paceville all I saw were a couple of policemen near Burger King but the surrounding areas were completely unattended. There should also be a police presence near St.George’s Bay,” he said, referring to the footage where a man is seen flying in front of the driver’s car.

“There is also no enforcement on e-scooters. It has become the order of the day to see scooters being driven down one way roads. I also see a lot of jaywalking, especially in Sliema and St Julian’s area,” Grixti said.

“No use of indicators by almost every driver, and I see private cars driven in bus lanes. It’s been years since I saw LESA or Transport Malta enforcing this law.”

“Something else I also notice is that a large majority of the drivers do not know the difference between a white continuous line and the broken line,” he noted.

“Nothing is being done to educate drivers on this island. TM should set up a task force and start a proper campaign on how to educate drivers,” he suggested.
