Watch: ‘He Was Trying To Save Himself’ – Maltese Breeder Attacked By His Own Dogs In Msida
A Maltese breeder residing in Msida was horrifically chased into his street after he was attacked by his own dogs in the middle of the night.
A next-door neighbour who witnessed parts of the ordeal got in touch with Lovin Malta this morning, recounting what they saw happening at around 1.40am along Triq Antonio Sciortino, Msida.
Photos and videos sent to Lovin Malta show the breeder, Andre Galea, seeking refuge on top of a car, before jumping into the emergency doctor’s car as soon as it arrived on-site. The dogs can also be heard barking in the video, and later also circling the area.
“As I was sleeping, I was awoken by the sound of a dog barking and a human moaning. Upon checking, I saw my neighbor on top of his car while his dogs were on the street,” the neighbour told Lovin Malta.
“Upon further observation, I realised that he was probably trying to rescue himself. There was blood all over the car, and the situation was quite alarming,”
“It’s worth noting that in previous years, my neighbor’s dogs had killed his grandmother and her dog. Despite this tragedy, nothing has changed, and the dogs continue to bark and cry,” they said.
“Needless to say, we are quite afraid for our safety.”
“It poses a threat not just to our community but also to the animals themselves.”
Upon reaching out to a police spokesperson, Lovin Malta was informed of an “ongoing investigation to establish what happened” in what is being regarded as a freak accident.
Back in 2020, Galea’s 96-year-old grandmother, Inez Galea, died after she was mauled to death by his pit bulls, along with her chihuahua.
Meanwhile, Galea is facing accusations of involuntary homicide in relation to his grandmother’s death.
