Watch: ‘I Have Problems Paying For Netflix Now’, Joseph Muscat Says On Asset Freezing
Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that he is finding problems with simply “paying for Netflix” after his assets were frozen in light of the Vitals-Steward inquiry.
“They froze all my assets, the little I have. But the truth is that now, even to pay for Netflix, it is a problem for me. It’s a problem because I have to go up to court and tell them ‘Listen, I need to pay for this’. Can you imagine this?” Muscat said on Emanuel Cuschieri’s ONE Radio show Linja Ċara.
Muscat is under a freezing order amounting to a maximum value of €30 million, but the former PM has said his assets are worth much less.
During yesterday’s interview with Cuschieri, Muscat said that “the little” that he has been frozen via court order.
The former PM went on to talk about how he envisions the whole process getting stuck in a state of “bureaucratic limbo”, with regular deferrals. especially since there are “around 40 people being accused”.
“When I became the leader of the Labour Party, there were people who warned me about this, telling me, ’If you actually succeed in all that you have in mind, these people would crucify you, if they could,’” Muscat stated.
“I don’t mind being crucified, if this means that I would have given a better life to people,” he continued.
“This is the ultimate testament that I cut off the legs of the people who believe they have a divine right over this country.
