Watch: ‘Jien Ma Naħmilhiex Saħta’ – Clayton Bartolo On Rebekah Borg As He Forgets To Switch Off Mic In Parliament
Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo got himself in a hot mic moment during a recent parliamentary hearing, after he expressed his feelings on PN MP Rebekah Borg – while forgetting to switch off his mic.
Bartolo was sitting next to Housing Minister Roderick Galdes, and when it was Borg’s turn to address the parliament, Bartolo turned to Galdes and said “Din, din, jien ma naħmilhiex saħta”.
In English, it roughly translates to “I can’t stand her”.
While the parliamentary members did not seem to realise at the time, the moment was then caught on video through Parliament TV.
“You forgot to switch off your microphone,” Borg wrote on social media while sharing the video.
“Is this an appropriate statement coming from a Minister when I was just doing my job and asking a question as it is my duty to do so?” she questioned.
“Thank you for certifying that I do my job well, Clayton,” she concluded.
The Minister has since issued a personal apology to Borg following his comments made in Parliament.
