Karly May Naudi has just made ‘her’story as the first trans woman competing for the title of Miss Universe Malta representing Sliema, her participation marks a significant milestone for the competition.
Naudi is no stranger to breaking barriers. In 2018, she became the first Maltese transgender model to walk for three designers during Malta Fashion Week.
Reflecting on her journey, she shared, “In a world where trans rights are constantly being challenged, especially now, I choose to stand tall, to speak up, and to remind everyone that equality is not a privilege, it is a right.”
Karly’s message is one of self-love, “no matter how loud voices of doubt or hate may be, never let them define you”, “Being true to who you are is the most powerful statement you can make.”
Naudi doesn’t just hope of inspiring her “trans brothers and sisters”, but everyone watching to chase their dreams fearlessly in a world that can be unkind.
“Remember, when you own your truth, nothing and no one can dim your light.”
The Miss Universe Malta 2025 finale is scheduled for 3rd July at the Hilton Malta Conference Centre. The winner will go on to represent Malta at the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Thailand.
