Maltese artist Joseph Aquilina has released a song dedicated to his friend’s family who have been displaced from Gaza.

The song is written in Maltese and it aims to highlight how the island nation has always supported Palestine and has been aware of “the threat of Zionism in the late 1800s”.

Meanwhile, the proceeds from the song will go to the UK Charity Medical Aid for Palestine.

The song is entitled “Children of our souls – Ulied erwieħna”

The lyrics are a spoken word poem dedicated to Aquilina’s friend Ahmed Masoud’s – an author and playwright – family who have been displaced from Gaza in refugee camps. Masoud’s brother Khalid is portrayed in the video.
