Watch: Neville Gafà To Be Questioned By Police After Removing Daphne Memorial
Former OPM official and blogger Neville Gafà has revealed in a Facebook video that he was summoned by police for questioning on Sunday afternoon and was advised to bring a lawyer after he cleared the Daphne Caruana Galizia memorial.
Gafà, known for his loyalty to former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and for his outspoken criticism of the Daphne Caruana Galizia memorial, recently attracted attention after being filmed removing flowers from the journalist’s monument on her death anniversary.
In a follow-up Facebook post, Gafà said that just minutes before he was due to appear at the Valletta Police Station, officers called to tell him not to come, citing “urgent work.” He added that he initially offered to wait at the station but eventually agreed to postpone the meeting “on police insistence.”
“Just to keep everyone informed of how things unfolded,” Gafà wrote, expressing gratitude to his followers for their “massive support” and closing the post with, “Viva Malta.”
